COURSE OVERVIEW

In this course, you will learn everything you need to know in order to get the Aurachain platform up and running on your local infrastructure.
This course is intended for administrator users, such as an IT System Administrator, who are responsible for the installation and maintenance of servers and applications.

You should have a basic understanding of the following topics:

  • Linux operating systems
  • Bash scripting language
  • DNS and networking protocols
  • NFS storage
  • SSL certificates
Note: All materials currently available in the Aurachain Academy are made with version 3.1.0 of the Aurachain Platform in mind. If you are using a different version of the Platform, whether it is an earlier or later version, there may be minor differences between what is presented in the materials and what you experience within the Platform.

A brief introduction to the Deployment section of the course.
Technologies overview 00:00:00
An overview of the key underlying principles and technologies that we will be working with during the course.
System Architecture 00:00:00
A look at how the technologies in play fit within a system architecture. We also cover the best practices when it comes to naming conventions and give a quick summary of the software requirements and DNS setup that will have to be in place before we can deploy the Aurachain platform.
Cluster Installation & Setup – Remove swap disk and install dependencies 00:00:00
The deployment process starts here. We will begin with a walkthrough on how to deactivate the swap disk. Commands will be shown at every step – you won’t have to do this alone!
Cluster Installation & Setup – Install Docker 00:00:00
Next, we will guide you through the process to install the first major component: Docker. Commands will be shown at every step – you won’t have to do this alone!
Cluster Installation & Setup – Install Kubernetes 00:00:00
In this video, we will provide a walkthrough on how to install Kubernetes. Then, we will go through step-by-step guides on how to configure the Master Node and Worker Nodes. This includes adding a small subcomponent, Calico networking manifest. Commands will be shown at every step – you won’t have to do this alone!
Cluster Installation & Setup – Install Helm 00:00:00
We continue our fantastic progress by installing the Helm package manager. We will also create namespaces and set up an ingress controller. Commands will be shown at every step – you won’t have to do this alone!
Cluster Installation & Setup – Setup NFS common storage 00:00:00
Become familiar with how to set up an NFS common storage server. Commands will be shown at every step – you won’t have to do this alone!
Cluster Installation & Setup – Install Load Balancer 00:00:00
A step-by-step guide on how to install the Ha Proxy load balancer. We will also generate a security certificate and configure the Ha Proxy load balancer once it has been installed. Commands will be shown at every step – you won’t have to do this alone!
Monitoring Solution Configuration 00:00:00
In order to complete the installation, we need to configure solutions for logging and monitoring. Here we will tackle the monitoring solution. Commands will be shown at every step – you won’t have to do this alone!
Elastic Stack Deployment 00:00:00
Here, we will cover the deployment of the Elastic stack, which will be our logging solution. Commands will be shown at every step – you won’t have to do this alone!
Aurachain Platform Deployment & Configuration 00:00:00
All the components are now in place, so we can deploy the Aurachain platform. And that’s exactly what we’ll do in this video. We will also configure the installation in Kibana. Commands will be shown at every step – you won’t have to do this alone!
End Note 00:00:00
A brief end note signifying the end of the Deployment section of the course.
Administration
Introduction 00:00:00
A brief introduction to the Administration section of the course and a run through the common commands you can use to check on the environment system.
Environment System Administration 00:00:00
Discover how to expose databases so that you can interrogate them with a third-party tool. We also cover the common commands you can use to examine the pods that make up an installation.
Aurachain Platform Administration 00:00:00
